“INDUSTRIES SYNDICATE’ make Rails clamps are Thrustor operated and hydraulic operated types. These rail Clamps are self blocking type,spring applied storm brakes and released by Hydraulic Cyclinder/ Elctro Hydrualic Thrustor.The main operation purpose of Rail Clamp to arrest the rail under Storm/Cyclone condition. The Electro-Hydraulic Thrustor develop the pressure to release the clamp, when power given to the Thrustor and in the event of de-energisation of Electro-Hydraulic Thrustor (when power-off ), clamp is applied. The clamping force develop by the main spring to hold the Rail Clamp through a pair of shoe/clamp.These Rail Clamps are storm brake suitable for small to medium forces from 500 Kg. to 3000 Kg.The value of forces indicated friction co-efficient – 0.25 or 0.5. These Rail Clamps are side mounted by bolt to the equipment. These Rail Clamps are to be considered as parking device
(safety against the movement, caused by wind and they work pressing on Rail Side). Each Rail Clamp is compound primarily of one steel frame to jaw operated by spring through suitable lever.As the Braking Shoes properly knurled, guarantee friction co-efficient of 0.59 approx. This is a good safety factor, respect to the nominal performance, when friction factor computed is 0.25 to 0.5. Braking Shoes of Rail Clamp have been designed to work on rail commonly on the market hardness, in between 200 and 270 BHN. Variance of width on the rail shall be within + 1.5 MM. Maximum mis-alignment of rail at joint shall be limited + 1 MM. (considering width of the rail).A Roller Lever, Snap-action Limit Switch shall be provided on each Rail Clamp to ensure proper
opening of the jaw from the rail, as a signal from Operator’s Cabin. Maximum opening of the jaw shall be limited to 50 MM. A manual hand release device shall be proved on the top of the Rail Clamp to open and close the jaw. The main spring shall be housed in a sheet steel cover to avoid in-grease solid particle in to the spring.Electro-Hydraulic Thrustor would be rated for 415 Volts + 10%, 50 Hz. + 6%, A.C., supply.”
